The fish need room. They must not be crowded（擁擠）. Fish need oxygen(氧氣). Fish get it from water in the tank. There must be enough water for all fish in the tank. So the size of the tank is important..
In the tank many people put small plants(植物). They give oxygen to the water. Plants help in other ways, too. Fish can nibble(輕咬)on the plants. They hide in the plants and sleep, lay eggs there.
Both the plants and fish need light. You can put near a window. It will get light there. But remember: a window may let cold air in. The cold can kill(殺死) your fish. Too hot water can kill your fish, too.
The fish need food and you should feed them every day. Giving them too much food is bad. It will make the water dirty. However, the fish should get just enough food. They should finish the food in 10 minutes. No extra(多余) is left. When this happens, the amount(數(shù)量)of food is right.

Hello Sandy,

We have just returned from our holiday. We went with our friends Edward Smith and his wife Tina to the Yorkshire Moors. This is a beautiful place. It is a natural park. There are lots of places to walk on the tops of the hills, miles of grassland with no people, just sheep and birds.

Edward, who had just come out of hospital, could not walk as far as be used to. However this meant that we walked in the mornings, and then stopped at a cafe for lunch each day, before returning to the place we live. Edward and I slept in front of the fire all afternoon, while the ladies went for another walk. Very pleasant!

I have taken lots of photos from the place we live, across the valley（峽谷）below us, of the morning sunrise, and the mist in the valley. Also, in England, the old steam powered trains（蒸汽火車）are very popular. I have taken many photos of the train and from it.

Yesterday we had the first snow of this winter. It is very early （we usually expect snow in January）. It rained all day, then snowed in the evening. Today we have bright sunshine!

Both Jenny and I are well I don’t know if I told you, in the last e-mail, that Jenny is now working in a hotel. Although she has to work hard, people there are nice and she is enjoying the work.

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to the nine o’clock Mystery Hour. Today we’ll show you two British stories. We hope you’ll enjoy them.

About 900 years ago two green children arrived in a small village in south England. Their eyes and skin were green and they spoke a strange language. They were very tired and weak, so the people of the village looked after them. The boy died a year later, but the girl grew strong and lived the rest of her life there. And her skin color turned back to normal day by day. Scientists say that sometimes of people don’t have enough food to eat for a long time, their skin goes very pale and can turn green.

Loch Ness is the largest lake in Scotland. It’s a very deep and cold lake. For hundreds of years, people have talked about a monster(怪物) called Nessie which lives in the lake. About seventy years ago, two people saw something moving in the lake. They said that the animal was playing and rolling around in the water. Since then many people say they have seen the monster. Their descriptions are always the same. It looks like a dinosaur, with a very long neck and a small head. It has a big bump(腫塊)on its back. People have tried to photograph the animal, but the pictures have not been very clear. Scientists don’t know whether there is a monster or not. Some say it may be a whale or a very large fish. Some think it’s a snake. Others say there’s nothing at all— nothing but people’s imagination. Maybe we’ll never know what’s in Loch Ness.
