2.Dolphins(海豚)are not fish,but warm-blooded animals.They live in groups,and speak to each other in their own language.In this way they are like other animals,such as bees and birds.But dolphins are very different from almost all land animals.Their brain is nearly the same size as our own,and they live a long time-at least twenty or thirty years.
Like some animals,dolphins use sound to help them find their way around.They also make these sounds to talk to each other and to help them find food.We now know they do not use their ears to receive these sounds,but the lower part of the mouth,called the jaw.
Strangely, dolphins seem to like man, and for thousands of years there have been stories about the dolphin and its friendship with people.
There is a story about sailors in the 19th century.In a dangerous part of the sea off the coast of New Zealand,they learnt to look for a dolphin called Jack.From 1871to 1903Jack met every boat in the area and showed it the way.Then in 1903a passenger on a boat called The Penguin shot and wounded Jack.He recovered(恢復(fù))and for nine years more continued to guide all ships through the area-except for The Penguin.
Today, some people continue to kill dolphins, but many countries of the world now protect them and in these places it is against the law to kill them.

Should Our Parents Accompany Us in Studying at School?
In recent years, many parents choose to accompany their children in studying, which has aroused a wide concern.
These parents are willing to leave their hometown, even quit their jobs to follow their children into the campus. Most of them rent an apartment nearby so as to take good care of their children.Parents consider it necessary to offer a better living condition to the kids.Meanwhile,it can allow them to keep track of the kids'academic performance.Nevertheless, what they've ignored is that it will get their kids into the habit of being dependent. Thus, they will never develop the ability of self-control in the future.
Trust leads to independence. So it seems to me that parents should create room for children's growth and study in order to ensure their overall development..

20.My interest in Chinese food started years ago, when I was a young reporter for the Washington Post. Our office wasn't far from Chinatown,(81)where   I found some very good Chinese restaurants.
That was the first time that I  (82)had noticed   (notice) the fresh taste of the meat and vegetables of Chinese food.
When I learned more about the food,I began to understand why  (83)ithas this special feature.
Many years ago, china had   (84)an   energy crisis because it lost much of its wood due to over population and poor management of its forests.This  (85)loss(lose) was very bad for the country,of course, but it turned out to be very good for the food.Wood became very expensive and hard to get,so the Chinese had to either find a substitute for their  (86)valuable  (value) wood,or learn how to use it better. There weren't any substitutes so people found ways to
economize.
In order to economize in cooking, they had to use very little wood.So they started cutting their meat and vegetables  (87)into  small pieces before they put them in the hot oil. That way,the food cooked  (88)faster  (fast) and they saved more fuel. The food  (89)prepared(prepare) in this way kept its fresh flavor---and it's this flavor   (90)that   attracts  people from other countries to the art of Chinese cooking.
