9.It was a dreadfully cold and cloudy afternoon.I was on the bus with my children, aged four and two, heading home when it started to rain.I realized this would mean a wet walk home(16)fromthe bus stop.(17)Although/Though/Whilemy house was merely two blocks away,it was not a pleasant walk with one small boy asleep in the pram (手推嬰兒車),the other one in a raincoat and no umbrella for myself.A pick-up truck passed us on the road.I tried to thumb a ride but failed. My little boy woke up with a start and began to cry.I(18)was convinced(convince) that thins might become worse and nobody would bother to help on such a terrible day.
A few minutes later(19)another,truck drove by,but to my surprise,I saw it(20)pulling(pull) back and the driver looking directly at us.
A young man put the window down."Hey,here's an umbrella for you, please take(21)it."He called out.
I stood there(22)astonished (astonish),barely believing that the man(23)whose existence was unknown to me only moments ago, could be so(24)considerate(consider)."Come on,give this to your mummy,"he said to my older son.I accepted the offer and expressed my gratitude to him.
This man might have needed the umbrella for himself later during the day but preferred to give it to me.It was a lesson to me(25)thatit's possible to give without expecting anything in return.

16.from 17.Although/Though/While 18,was convinced 19.a(chǎn)nother
20.pulling  21.it  22.a(chǎn)stonished  23.whose  24.considerate 25.that
I was on the bus with my children",可知作者是帶著孩子坐公交車回家,因此,此處應(yīng)該是表示"從"車站走回家.
17.Although/Though/While 考查連詞.
主語(yǔ)I后缺少謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞,be convinced意為"相信",又由于全文都是過去時(shí)態(tài),故填was convinced.
19.a(chǎn)nother 考查代詞. 可知,填another.
20.pulling  考查現(xiàn)在分詞.see sb.doing sth.
根據(jù)here's an umbrella for you,please take it.
英語(yǔ)強(qiáng)調(diào)句結(jié)構(gòu):It be+被強(qiáng)調(diào)部分+that/who+其他.被強(qiáng)調(diào)部分為a lesson,故填that.

19.A new study found evidence of aggressive behavior in children who have four or more servings of soft drinks every day.
Information for the study came from the mothers of 3,000five-year-olds.Researchers asked the women to keep a record of how many servings of soft drinks their children drank over a two-month period.The women were also asked to complete a checklist of their children's behavior.
The researchers found that 43percent of the boys and girls drank at least one daily serving of soda.Four percent of the youngsters had four or more sodas to drink every day.
Shakira Suglia is with Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health in New York City.She worked on the study with researchers from the University of Vermont and Harvard University School of Public Health.She says they found that children who drank the most soda were more than two times as likely as those who drank no soda to show signs of aggression.
"For the children who consumed four or more soft drinks per day,we see an association between aggressive behaviors, attention problems and withdrawn behaviors."
The aggressive behaviors included destroying possessions belonging to others, taking part in fights and physically attacking people.
Shakira Suglia says the researchers identified the link after they considered ocio-demographic factors like the child's age and sex.They also considered other possible influences,such as hether the boys and girls were eating sweets or given fruit drinks on a normal day.In addition,the researchers examined parenting styles and other social conditions that might be taking place in the home.
Doctor Suglia says it is not clear why young children who drink a lot of soda have behavior problems.
"We can't prove that this is a direct cause and effect relationship.Having said that,there are a lot of ingredients in soda,a lot of ingredients that have not been examined in relation to behavior."
A substance often found in soft drinks is caffeine,which helps to make people feel energized.Doctor Suglia suggests that caffeine could be causing the five year olds to be more aggressive.
The research is part of a larger study called the Fragile Families and Child Wellbeing Study.It follows 5,000poor mothers and their children in 20American cities.
Earlier studies of young adults have found the highest sugar levels in those who carry weapons and show signs of negative social behavior.
59.What's the purpose of writing this passage?B
A.To persuade parents to forbid their children have soft drinks.B.To present the result of a study.
