An intelligence test measures a person's ability to solve different kinds of problems. There are many kinds of intelligence tests. The tests that are sometimes given in schools are called Stanford-Binet I. Q. tests. They were first developed in 1905 by a French psychologist named Alfred Binet and later revised(修訂) for use on children in the United States by psychologists at Stanford University.
Binet had observed that on the average a 10-year-old learns more quickly and can solve more difficult problems than a 9-year-old; an 11-year-old learns more quickly than a 10-year-old, and so on. As a rule a child's intelligence tends to increase year by year. Therefore Binet arranged his tests by age levels:the first problems in any test can be solved by all children of the age level being tested; the problems become more and more difficult until few, if any, children of that age can solve them.
After a child has completed a Stanford-Binet test, the psychologist figures out the score and then compares it with the average score of other children of the same age. If a child solves the same number of problems as the average child of the same age solves, his I. Q. will be 100.If he solves more problems, his I. Q. will be more than 100.If he solves fewer, it will be less than 100.By comparing a child's score in this test with his score on an earlier one, the psychologist can tell how fast the child's abilities are growing in relation to his age.

Getting a new apartment and roommate can mean inviting a stranger in to learn exactly what you look like in the morning before a shower, how you pay your bills, and which friends you have over. Although Craigslist can be a great place to find just about anything and everything you could want, unfortunately even looking for a roommate on Craigslist could lead to a very negative experience if one is not careful. Here are some tips for finding a roommate so you can share your apartment with less stress and more enjoyment.
*Be careful about having your best friend as a roommate – things always change when you live with someone.
* Consider posting or responding to an online roommate advertisement - it's the easiest way to interact with a lot of possible roommates.
*Search early - you want to pick a roommate who you want to live with, not settle for someone you aren't comfortable with because you ran out of time.
*Ask around - other than using online resources, word of mouth can help turn up new roommate prospects.
*Be clear about what you do and do not want - but also be open to someone different from you.
*Have fun with the process - you may end up meeting new people even when they DON'T become your roommate.
*Use your instincts(直覺) - if you don't feel comfortable with someone, DON'T live with them.
*Be organized - prepare a list of everything you want to know about how someone lives so you will know if they will be a compatible roommate. Establish an idea of your desired roommate. You should begin by figuring out any specifics about your roommate. Do you want only males or females? Is there a specific age or a range of ages you prefer? You should know what you are looking for before you begin to look.
