【題目】--- You could always put the decision off a little bit longer.

--- _________ If I leave it much longer I might miss my chance.

A.That’s reasonable advice

B.Isn’t it a good idea?

C.Do you think so?

D.I can’t agree more

【答案】C

【解析】

考查情景對話。句意:——你總是可以把決定推遲一點!氵@么認(rèn)為嗎?如果再拖一會兒,我可能會錯過機(jī)會。分析選項A. Thats reasonable advice這是個合理的建議;B. Isnt it a good idea? 這不是個好主意嗎?C. Do you think so? 你這樣認(rèn)為嗎?D. I cant agree more我完全同意。根據(jù)后面的句子“If I leave it much longer I might miss my chance(如果再拖下去,我會失去機(jī)會)”,很明顯,這兩個人意見相反,所以第二個人不會肯定第一個人的意見, A、BD均表示贊同對方的說法或建議,排除。而Do you think so?先進(jìn)行反問,然后給出自己不同的觀點.所以正確答案為C

【題目】 This may sound like a joke about a lazy person's dream job. Earn big money by staying in bed and watching TV. But this is really happening, and it's a project of NASA and two European space agencies the Institute of Aerospace Medicine at the Cologne-based German Aerospace Center and the European Space Agency. It's called Artificial Gravity Bed Rest Study, aimed at studying how the body adapts to weightlessness in space.

Scientists are seeking 12 women to spend two full months in bed in the fall at a German lab, plus an additional month there for preparation and recovery. The first 12 test subjects, all men, already have started the study.

Participants spend two entire months in bed and remain lying down even to do everyday things like eating, drinking and exercising. They also answer nature's call and shower, but it's unclear from the NASA website how those tasks are accomplished in bed.

"Daily routine showering, getting dressed, eating, exercising takes much time when you cannot stand up to do them," says the website, adding that there is "continuous data collection", including blood pressure, heart rate, nutrient absorption and also the participants' feelings. Study subjects will spend the 60 days with their heads tilted(傾斜)down six degrees, which imitates(模仿)conditions in space.

Participants are encouraged to pass the time by watching TV, taking online courses, reading and any other activities they can perform while lying down alone in bed to relieve what could be boredom. Family and friends are allowed to visit.

The high $ 18,500 payment for two months of lazing about is probably a major motivation for people willing to go through something this extreme. However, if you're an American who really needs the money, you probably can't afford it. Candidates need to travel to Cologne four times at their own expense for the employment process between April and July. Plus, they need strong German-speaking skills. Also participants need to be nonsmokers between ages 24 and 55, in good health, with normal body weight.

1What are participants expected to do during the study?

A.Report their feelings regularly.B.Complete their daily routines in bed.

C.Keep their bodies tilted down six degrees.D.Record their physical responses every day.

2What data about the participants will the researchers collect?

A.The changes in their weight.B.Their behaviors to weightlessness.

C.The ways they do their daily things.D.Their physical and mental reactions

3What will be a challenge for the participants?

A.The language skills they need.B.The difficulty meeting family.

C.The possibility that they feel dull.D.The slow discovery of their health.

4The requirements for potential participants are .

A.challenging for AmericansB.tailored to thin persons

C.easy for the youth to satisfyD.suitable for most people

World records can be set even if you are over 100 years old. Robert Marchand was born in 1911 in northern France. He enjoys riding a bicycle, and started cycling seriously when he was in his 60s. 1

On Wednesday, a crowd gathered at the Velodrome National, about 30 kilometers outside of Paris. 2 The record for one hour is held by Britain’s Bradley Wiggins, a former Tour de France winner. Wiggins covered 54.5 kilometers in 2015.Evelyn Stevens of the United States holds the women’s record. She went almost 48 kilometers in an hour last year. Marchand is relatively small.4 When the hour ended, he completed 92 times around the track. That is just over 22.5 kilometers.5He did not see his trainers telling him he only had 10 minutes remaining.“I would have gone faster. 【題目】 There is no denying that students should learn something about how computers work, just as we expect them at least to understand that the internal-combustion engine has something to do with burning fuel, expanding gases and pistons 1 (drive). For people should have some basic idea of how the things that they use do 2 they do. Further, students might be helped by a course that considers the computer’s impact on society. But that is not what is meant 3 computer literacy. Computer literacy is not a form of literacy; it is a trade skill that should not be taught as a liberal art.

Learning how to use a computer and learning how to program one are two distinct activities. A case might be made that the competent citizens of tomorrow 4 free themselves from their fear of computers. But this is quite different from saying that all ought to know how to program one. Leave that to people who have chosen programming as a career. While programming can be lots of fun, 5 while our society needs some people who are experts at it, the same is true of auto repair and violin-making.

Learning how to use a computer is not that difficult, and it gets easier all the time as programs become more “user-friendly”. Let us assume that in the future 6 is going to have to know how to use a computer to be a competent citizen. What does the phrase learning to use a computer mean? It sounds like “l(fā)earning to drive a car”, that is, it sounds 7 there is some set of definite skills that, once 8 (acquire), enable one to use a computer.

In fact, “l(fā)earning to use a computer” is much more like “l(fā)earning to play a game”, but learning the rules of one game may not help you play 9 second game, 10 rules may not be the same. There is no such a thing as teaching someone how to use a computer. One can only teach people to use this or that program and generally that is easily accomplished.

I was visiting Australia a few weeks ago. I knew I couldn’t leave the surf capital of the world 1 having a try myself. I booked a group surf lesson when I was in Byron Bay, which is a really popular place for 2 (skill) surfers to go and catch some waves!

We started off with a warm-up by doing some stretches and going for a jog along 3 beach. Then we all 4 (lie) down on our surfboards on the sand and practiced 5 (jump) up to the standing position. After this, we were ready to go out and try it out on the water. Well, surfing is much 6 (hard) than it looks—when you watch people from the beach they make 7 look so easy! I had tried a couple of times but failed before one of the8 (coach) came to help me and held my board steady.

Finally I started to get the hang of it and by the end of the lesson I managed 9 (stand) up on the board by myself, 10 was a pretty awesome feeling. Now I can’t wait to try it again, although I’ll definitely need to wear a wetsuit if I’m surfing in the UK!
